Description: Microscopic chalk particles recreated in crochet using household string and from glued paper cupcake cases.
This work was made in response to the Chalk Pit show in Glynde Place, Sussex, where lime was quarried.
The Sussex chalk is made from deposits of unimaginable numbers of the skeletons of algae which fell to the sea bed millions of years ago.
The debris that may form part of new geological strata now includes everyday waste and man made synthetics.
